One month ago yesterday.....

Can it really be true that it was only one month ago that we walked out of our home at 2555 Hale for the last time—after sleepless nights and scrambling to pack up the last of our belongings—said goodbye to our dear friends and rode in our van to the airport to board a plane bound for the other side of the world?! 30 days does not seem long enough to contain all that we’ve experienced nor a proportionate amount of time to how much we miss home and family and friends!
Our time has been full! In 30 days we have:

-made it to the other side of the world with a 3 & 4 year old
-gotten over jet lag
-begun to form precious relationships with our team in Kolkata
-survived a 12 hour bus ride (with way to much luggage!) to Bangladesh
-settled into our guest house, including learning to live together in one room, being more and more creative to find things to do (without TV and lots of other kids around or places to go), learning where to buy food, what’s available and how to cook it, finding a new, slower rhythm to life and learning to enjoy it….
-completed our first month of Bangla class and acquired a basic foundation in a very foreign language!
-met people from all over the world and made a few new friends—including former team-mates of a friend from Nashville

Thinking back on this past month kind of makes my head spin and makes me so thankful for where we are today! We feel so sustained and covered by the grace of God. Thank you for praying for us and literally holding us up in this way!
We attended church here this morning and were so encouraged by the message that was on the same theme that Brent’s been considering lately: life is God. Our desire and prayer for us here and for you there is to find it and live it to the full!

If only we here in the States could figure out how to live that slower rhythm lifestyle! I look forward to your many shared life lessons. We miss you.
