Get out of town!
The weekend before Christmas we had a nice little get-away to Sylhet, a town on the northern border of Bangladesh and India. We were so happy to get out of the city for a bit that we even enjoyed the 7 hour ride in the car--admiring the counrtyside with rice harvest season in full swing. On Saturday we took a little boat ride down the cleanest looking river we've ever seen in these parts and enjoyed (Anna especially) a little hike around a tea plantation. We also found it fascinating to observe life on the river up close. Later that evening we took a walk down the village road from our hotel and watched a bunch of kids playing in the fields. Our girls could not bear to just stand by and watch so joined right in! It was a great break! (Enjoy the slideshow on the right).
